VA Recruiting for User Experience Study
Veterans invited to share feedback to improve online user experience. Are you a veteran? A caregiver? A family member? The Department of Veterans Affairs wants to make it easier for you to explore, apply for, manage and track your VA benefits. Teams from the VA want to hear your feedback about improvements they are making to VA websites, mobile applications and website tools to ensure that these services are usable and relevant for you. Registration to participate is required. You will receive a gift for participation.
Expungement Information Session
The Loudoun Reentry Advisory Council and Legal Services of Northern Virginia are holding a free Expungement Information Session on February 21st from 10 AM to 12 PM. Open to everyone facing barriers to getting a job or career advancement because of their criminal charges. Registration is required. Deadline to register: February 15th.
Veterans Storytelling & Comedy Show at The Torpedo Factory
Join the Armed Services Arts Partnership's Storytelling 101 and Comedy Bootcamp alumni at the Torpedo Factory Art Center as veterans, service members, and military family members share stories and jokes about the military, veteran, and human experience. This show will take place on Friday, February 22nd at 7:30 PM at The Torpedo Factory Art Center (105 N Union St, Alexandria, VA 22314). Doors will open at 7 PM. The booklet focuses on supporting a loved one who is dealing with PTSD — but the strategies and tips may be helpful for supporting anyone who has experienced trauma. Step into 2019 with a First Day Hike
On Jan. 1, 2019, the Maryland Park Service will offer more than three dozen hikes on more than 30 state lands and parks, as part of a nationwide event sponsored by America’s State Parks. These hikes will provide a wide array of outdoor adventures and experiences for every level of hiker and walker, providing unique access to Maryland’s cultural, historical and natural resources and treasures, along with opportunities for education and stewardship. Many hikes are even pet-friendly.

Montgomery County Volunteer Center Day of Service
On Monday, January 21st, 2019, join the Montgomery County Volunteer Center as together they honor Dr. King's life and teachings at the Montgomery County MLK Day of Service from 1-3 pm at the Bethesda North Marriott Conference Center as well as sites in Silver Spring, Germantown, Gaithersburg, Olney and Rockville. Pre-registration is required for all sites. SSL student service learning hours are available.
