The Loudoun Salute to Military, Veterans and their families will be held on Saturday, October 28 from 10:30 - 4 pm with special entertainment from 12 - 1 pm at Stone Bridge High School in Ashburn, VA.

Veteran Employment in Northern Virginia, a discussion – Oct 3

The Fairfax County Veterans Collaborative October meeting will feature a topic-driven discussion on employment for veterans in the Northern Virginia area. Tuesday, October 3 from 1:00 – 3:00 pm at George Mason Regional Library (7001 Little River Turnpike, Annandale, VA 22003). We’ll have representatives from: Northern Virginia Technology Council / Veterans Employment Initiative, Virginia Employment Commission, Easter Seals Veteran Staff Network, Veterans Next Mission, USO Metro / Project Next S.T.E.P., and some Veteran Recruiters/Employers. Join in on the discussion to learn about programs and services available for veterans in the region, and have an opportunity to learn, ask questions, network and share.

Free Writing Workshop for Veterans at Montgomery County Public Libraries

Montgomery County Public Libraries (MCPL) is offering a free six-session workshop open for veterans, service members, and their adult family members. The six-session workshop will take place at the Rockville Memorial library, 21 Maryland Ave., Rockville, on Saturdays, September 30, October 7, 14, 21, 28 & November 4 1:00 to 3:00 pm. Registration is required.

Project Homeless Connect – Oct 19

On October 19, 2017, United Way NCA will present Project Homeless Connect, a one-day resource fair. This special event will provide on-site medical and dental care, and access to housing, employment and other vital services to people in our community who are experiencing homelessness. Project Homeless Connect will be held at Kennedy Recreation Center (1401 7th St NW, Washington, DC 20001)

Recovery Resource Open House – Sept 27

The Fairfax-Falls Church Community Services Board (CSB) invites you to join them and behavioral health partners, for a FREE open house to provide answers and information on issues that you, your family, and your community are facing. The Recovery Resource Open House will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. at the CSB’s Merrifield Center on Wednesday, September 27, 2017. In addition to CSB clinicians, representatives from a wide range of treatment providers will be available to answer questions and provide information on substance use disorder services available in Fairfax County and around the region.

SemperFit Health Fair & Walk/Run at Work Day – Sept 14

Semper Fit Health Fair and Football Combine and the Marine Corps Marathon National Walk/Run at Work Day will be held on Thursday, September 14, at Butler Stadium at MCB Quantico. The rain location will be inside the Barber Physical Activity Center.

Prince George’s Community College Veteran Resource Fair September 14th
