Tillman Scholar Applications Now Being Accepted

The Tillman Scholar Program unites and empowers remarkable military veterans and spouses as the next generation of public and private sector leaders committed to service beyond self. The fellowship supports Tillman Scholars with academic scholarships, a national network, and professional development opportunities so they are empowered to make an impact in the fields of medicine, law, business, policy, technology, education and the arts. Capitol Area Food Bank Free Pop Up Grocery for Government Employees

The Capital Area Food Bank is committed to providing food for our neighbors in need, throughout the year and in unexpected moments of economic hardship. In response to the government shutdown, the Capital Area Food Bank is holding free pop-up markets for government employees and contractors affected by the shutdown. This Saturday, January 26th, CAFB will be distributing free produce, groceries and frozen meals outside of the six Giant locations below from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. Please bring your federal ID or federal contractor ID. Additionally, Haymarket Food Pantry, a partner of the CAFB, will be distributing groceries and household/hygiene items from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. at Gainesville United Methodist Church.
