The Mental Health Summit will bring together key stakeholders and community partners with the goal of enhancing access to mental health services and addressing the mental healthcare needs of Veterans and their family members. This year's theme will be "Justice Involved Veterans". Registration is required.

New Virginia Military and Veteran Legal Resource Guide

Attorney General Mark R. Herring today launched the Virginia Military and Veteran Legal Resource Guide, a new tool to help Virginia servicemembers, military families, and veterans utilize the unique legal protections, rights, and resources available to them under the law. Volunteer attorneys from the Office of Attorney General spent more than a year developing the new guide which is available at www.VaMilGuide.com and will be distributed in hard copy and electronically in conjunction with the Virginia Department of Veterans Services, veterans' service organizations, and more.

Webinar – Legal Services at Stand Downs June 15th

The National Veterans Technical Assistance Center (NVTAC) and the ABA Commission on Homelessness & Poverty are hosting a webinar “Legal Services at Stand Downs” on Thursday, June 15, 2017 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM EDT. This webinar will feature a panel of experts who will discuss a variety of legal topics relevant to working with veterans experiencing homelessness. Topics will include how to address criminal and civil legal matters and child support issues on-site at Stand Down. Panelists will also discuss how to develop initiatives to provide legal services in rural areas. Registration is required

Justice Involved Veterans Workshop – June 16

Join ServingTogether for an informative event about Veterans Involved in Justice in Northern Virginia on Friday, June 16 from 9 am - 12 pm at the Fairfax County Circuit Court. Speakers and panelists will be discussing the current state of veterans involved in justice in Northern Virginia, highlighting the success in Veteran Treatment Dockets, and understanding services and gaps for veterans re-entering society.
