Veterans, Active Duty Military Service Members, and Military and Veteran Spouses, are cordially invited to a FREE Transition Workshop: "Wellness and Healing: Practical Techniques and Tools for Self-Care." This workshop will discuss Wellness for the Body, Soul and Spirit on SATURDAY, OCTOBER 21 beginning at 10:00 am until 1 pm at Knights of Columbus Hall- 5034 Wisconsin Avenue NW, Second Floor, Washington DC.

Booz Allen Hamilton Networking Dinner – Transitioning Servicemembers – Oct 16

Booz Allen Hamilton Networking Dinner will be held on Monday, October 16 from 6:30pm - 8:30pm at the USO on Fort Belvoir. Meet Booz Allen Hamilton representatives and learn about career opportunities. Listen as a Veteran currently working with Booz Allen Hamilton shares their insight and experience of the application and hiring process. Participants must have transitioned out of active duty service within the past 12 months, or are transitioning out of active duty service within the next 12 months. Space is limited and participants will be selected by lottery from registration list.

FREE CCNA Course for Transitioning Service Members – Applications Being Accepted

USO of Metropolitan Washington-Baltimore is now accepting applications for our next CCNA course offered for transitioning service members. The course is offered November 7, 2017 through February 3, 2018, with classes held T/TH evening from 6:00pm - 9:30pm, and Saturday morning from 8:00am - 12:00pm at USO on Fort Belvoir. Applications must be completed and submitted by 3:00pm, Tuesday October 24. There will be no exceptions. Participants accepted in to the program will be notified on or about October 31.

Reboot Combat Recovery – 12 Week Course

The course just started and still has seats available! Join in starting on Thursday, September 28 at 6:30 pm for two hours a week for 12 weeks, focusing on the spiritual aspects of combat recovery. Held each Thursday from 6:30 - 8:30 pm at Floris United Method Church in Herndon. This is a free course - not a support group - providing practical help for Veterans, Service members, first responders and their families dealing with the after effects of trauma. You won't find shortcuts or easy answers, but instead you'll find solutions that last. Dinner and childcare are provided.

Special Presentation: Bridging the Veteran and Non-Veteran World – “Is Anyone Listening?”

The Montgomery County Commission on Veterans Affairs Presents a screening & post screening discussion of "Is Anybody Listening?" Tuesday, September 19th 6-8pm in Rockville MD. Free and open to the public.

Prince George’s Community College Veteran Resource Fair September 14th

Come out for a day to learn about military and veteran related organizations and resources within the community. This event is open to all active duty,veterans, spouses, dependents, and/or caregivers.

Travis Manion Foundation's (TMF) will be hosting a Veteran Transition Workshops (VTW) on Saturday, September 23 from 9 am at the Carlyle Group in Washington, D.C. VTW aids service members in leveraging their strengths, passions, & skills to thrive personally and professionally in their post-military lives.

DC VA Medical Center’s Welcome Home Event – June 6

Walter Reed National Military Medical Center and the Washington DC Veterans Affairs Medical Center partner to invite you to a Welcome Home Event! Tuesday, June 6, 2017 from 12:30 - 3:30 p.m. at Naval Support Activity Bethesda, 8901 Wisconsin Avenue, Bethesda, MD 20889 in the Morale, Welfare & Recreation Gym, Building 17, First Floor. An appreciation event to honor recently returned combat-OEF/OIF/OND/OIR Veterans, active duty service members, their families,as well as, Veterans of all eras.
