Warrior Canine Connection Puppy Training Information Classes

Warrior Canine Connection (WCC) enlists Service Members and Veterans with combat stress in the critical mission of training service dogs for fellow wounded warriors. If this sounds like something you would like to be a part of join WCC and The Steven A Cohen Military Family Clinic for a 7 part training session where you will learn about dog psychology and training methods. Session one begins Friday. October 11th from 8:30-9:30 AM at Easterseals in Silver Spring,MD. Registration is required.

Brain Injury Services’ The Journey Conference

The Journey Conference is an annual conference hosted by Brain Injury Services for survivors, family members, and professionals in the brain injury community. At the conference, you'll attend sessions where local experts in the field of rehabilitation discuss practical strategies survivors can use in real life. Attending Journey is a great way for you to connect with other survivors and be educated on community resources available to you and your family as you work to find your “new normal.” Thursday, October 17, 2019 8:30am - 3:30pm. Warriors to Workforce – Oct 14-16

The event will bring together major companies from throughout the country to profile their services and provide employment opportunities for our Veterans, transitioning service members and military spouses. Attendees have the chance to talk with employers, submit qualifications, participate in job interviews, have their resumes reviewed and participate in a rotating schedule of professional development workshops led by subject matter experts on transition from military to civilian life. 

DC Women Veteran’s Day 2019

Join the DC Mayor's Office of Veterans Affairs (MOVA) to commemorate the women of the District; who have fearlessly served our nation. Saturday, October 19th from 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM in DC. Make plans to attend, and participate in a holistic health and wellness event to ensure this special demographic of our constituency receives the proper recognition for their service. MOVA aims for every woman veteran in attendance to leave the event informed and empowered regarding various resources and services available for a seamless and healthy transition into civilian life.

The American Legion Post 82 is hosting a free Veterans Stand Down Event on Tuesday, October 22nd from 10:00am - 3:00pm. The focus of the event is for veterans to connect with numerous agencies and serivce providers concerning VA Benefits, employment advice/possibilities, healthcare and much more.
