Maryland's Commitment to Veterans would like to invite you to register for their Eastern Region Conference to be held June 25th at 8:00 am to 4:00 pm at the Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay Golf Resort, Spa And Marina. Topics this year include, military culture awareness, veteran benefits and as well as Opioid use in the Veteran population. In addition there will be a homeless services panel, and a panel of experts to discuss aging as it relates to veterans and their families. lunch provided as well as 5.5 CEU's for anyone who indicates their interest on registration. Registration is required.

Run for EveryMind 5K Run/3K Walk

EveryMind is proud to host Run for EveryMind again this year at Rockville Town Center. We host this event every year because our mission is to raise awareness of the importance of mental health and wellness and reduce the stigma that is often associated with mental health challenges. Through Run for EveryMind, we strive to educate the community while providing an opportunity to engage in a positive, healthy activity that promotes good mental and physical health. The Summer Series consists of in-person Community-Based Workforce Development Workshops complete with fun "Coffee Tastings" and convenient Virtual Sessions you can attend from anywhere. Corporate Gray Military-Friendly Job Fair

You are invited to attend the June 21st Corporate Gray Military-Friendly Job Fair at the Waterford Reception Center in Springfield and meet face-to-face with a variety of top employers. Job fair hours are 9 am to 12 noon, with an Employer Panel discussion for job seekers at 8 am.  Pre-registration is available.

PTSD & Traumatic Brain Injury: Differences between Male & Female Veterans

This cyberseminar will take place on June 18th from 2:00-3:00pm ET. The Cyberseminar will cover: a. The changes in the role of the female Veteran over time; b. The incidence of PTSD and TBI among Veterans and literature on sex differences; c. Discuss the findings of sex differences from this study among Veterans with PTSD and TBI and how this may affect treatment.

Project Horse Empowerment Center Programs for Veterans

Project Horse offers accessible and engaging paths to wellness, post traumatic growth, reintegration to civilian life and family re connection. Programs are offered pro-bono to veterans and their families. Located in Purcellville, Virginia in Loudoun County.

Stars and Stripes Night with Frederick Keys

Join Coalition to Salute America's Heroes on July 3rd at Stars and Stripes Night with the Frederick Keys vs. the Lynchburg Hillcats. The Stars and Stripes night at the ballpark will feature special military and veteran programming including Fireworks, Patriotic Hat Auction, and Fundraising for Heroes. Each ticket purchased for this game donates a ticket to a local veteran, active duty military or first responder. Community Block Party in Frederick

Saturday, June 29th from 11:00am - 3:00pm at Asbury United Methodist Church in Frederick MD. Meet and greet the community. Free food, games, health screenings, community resources and much more. This is a free event. Rain or shine.

The Governor's Office on Service and Volunteerism is now accepting nominations for the 2019 Governor's Service Awards. The awards recognize Marylanders who have provided significant volunteer contributions to communities around the state and have worked to change Maryland for the better. Nominations are due by Friday, June 7th at 11:59 pm.
