HIRING OUR HEROES EMPLOYMENT WORKSHOP This Hiring Our Heroes employment workshop is led by HR and workforce professionals and covers a variety of topics including resume building, networking, and interview tips, taking into account the job seeker's military background and lifestyle. Hiring Our Heroes digital tools are also integrated into the workshop curriculum. Immediately following the workshop, volunteer career coaches will help you develop an elevator pitch, participate in a mock interview, and create a more effective resume. Registration is required.

The Montgomery County Commission on People with Disabilities and Commission on Veterans Affairs has completed the Transportation Network Directory for People with Disabilities & Adults 50+ website. The website contains information about private and public transportation. It also includes information on reduced fees on Metro for Veterans with a disability.
The Veteran Curation Program will be hosting a meet & greet at their Alexandria Laboratory on Thursday, January 12 from 10 am - 2 pm. The Alexandria Veterans Curation Program currently provides vocational rehabilitation and innovative training to twenty–two recently-separated veterans using archaeological collections administered by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. This event will provide you with a chance to meet the veterans and to learn more about the program.
Veterans Collaborative meetings, hosted by Serving Together – a program of EveryMind, are held bi-monthly in Montgomery County, Fairfax County and Loudoun County. The Collaboratives are informal meetings where community partners come together to share resources, events, and information.
