The Northern Virginia Technology Council’s Veteran Employment Initiative offers a VETWORKING program which provides Veteran jobseekers with career transition education and personal growth experiences to succeed in seeking civilian em¬ployment. VETWORKING is a personal and professional development program combining elements of net¬working and mentoring and connects transitioning ser¬vice members, Veterans or their spouses with a support team. Army Ten Miler – Slots Available!

Serving Together & MHA still have slots available for the 2016 Army Ten Miler in October. Registration deadline with us is August 15th. There is no fundraising minimum. Prizes will be awarded to top supporters. Interested persons should email jfuchs@mhamc.org.

Women in the Military- Free Smithsonian-UMD Program

Dr. Marian Moser Jones at the University of Maryland, College Park, and the curators of the Armed Forces Division at the Smithsonian National Museum of American History, are inviting veterans or active duty service members of all ages and genders to participate in one or more free weekend discussion-museum tour programs. These veteran-led programs, titled "100 Years of American Women in Uniform," will take place the weekends of October 7-9, 2016; November 18-20, 2016; March 17-19, 2017, and May 12-14, 2017.

DAV Seeking Volunteer Drivers

Due to a lack of Volunteer Drivers, many veteran have had their medical appointments cancelled and rescheduled. Fellow veterans deserve better. Open Mic Night for Veterans

The Armed Services Arts Partnership (ASAP), Dog Tag Bakery, and the event sponsor, CEB, are excited to continue hosting the monthly open mic for veterans, service members, and military family members. This month's open mic is set for 7PM on Thursday, July 21st at Dog Tag Bakery (3206 Grace Street Northwest, Washington, DC), and will be focused exclusively on musical performances.
