Cisco in partnership with Onward to Opportunity are offering free online CCNA Cyber Ops and CCNA Security training. Open to Veterans, Transitioning Service members, Guard, Reserves and Spouses. Participants are preferably located in VA or NC. Deadline to apply is Aug 2.

USO Metro – Project Next S.T.E.P.

Then join us as a franchise owner and expert discusses how to find a good franchise, what franchises have succeeded in the DC Metro area as well as in other parts of the country, what are the "hot" franchises, and more. This event will be held on Wednesday, August 1 from 6:30pm - 8:30pm at the USO Warrior and Family Center at Fort Belvoir, 5940 9th Street. This free session is open to all active duty service members and/or spouses of active duty service members.

Veterans Curation Program Open House

The Alexandria Veterans Curation Program provides vocational rehabilitation and innovative training to recently separated veterans using archaeological collections administered by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Join them for an open house on July 31st from 10am - 2pm to learn more about the program.

VET Center Registration & Referral at the Library

Mondays through September at the Gaithersburg and Germantown Libraries the Silver Spring VET Center will hold walk in times for referrals and to get connected to the Vet Center and VA services. VET Centers provide quality readjustment counseling in a caring manner. The staff understands and appreciates Veterans' war experiences while assisting them and their family members toward a successful post-war adjustment in or near their community. Services are free to eligible veterans and their families.

Exploring Stress and Trauma June 20th

Presented by the American Red Cross and hosted by the Steven A. Cohen Military Family Clinic This workshop is designed to help veterans and their families recognize and manage post deployment stress and other war related concerns, including trauma issues. Left unaddressed, stress and trauma can lead to a variety of negative outcomes for the veteran and their families. Wednesday, June 20th from 6:30-8:30pm. Registration is required. Free child care is available by request.

Military Corps Career Connect (C3) is a program designed to help transitioning Maryland service members and military spouses build a successful career. The program includes career planning and coaching, credentials and certifications and hands on experience through on-the-job training, paid work experience or fellowship.
