    Serve Our Willing Warriors is growing and we have been approved to construct an additional home on our land. This will enable SOWW to serve two services members and their families simultaneously. With this approval comes the need for more dedicated volunteers.

    Save the Date! Veterans, family members and the community invited to the Frederick County Department of Aging’s Veteran Recognition & Resource Day event. Monday, July 10th from 9am-2pm at the Frederick Senior Center. Lunch provided. Registration required.

  • You’re Invited to the DC VA Mental Health Summit 2017

    The Mental Health Summit will bring together key stakeholders and community partners with the goal of enhancing access to mental health services and addressing the mental healthcare needs of Veterans and their family members. This year’s theme will be “Justice Involved Veterans”.

  • Operation: Tohidu – Veterans Retreat

    Operation: Tohidu retreats are held at Melwood’s 108-acre Retreat and Recreation Center in Nanjemoy, Maryland. There, veterans use ropes courses, zip lines, rock wall, equine therapy and many other physically challenging activities to augment the educational sessions, social interactions, and spiritual reinforcement throughout the retreat week that helps them manage their own healing naturally.

  • The American Legion Department of Virginia Hiring Fair – July 13

    Research participants needed to complete survey regarding relationship of moral injury and spiritual wellness. Seeking combat veterans to provide input on combat experiences and better help us understand how to treat and care for care for veterans.

  • Vet-Working – June 20

    The Veterans Committee of The Greater Springfield Chamber of Commerce and The Veterans Business Outreach Center (VBOC) invite you to join their June Vet-Working Event created especially for the veteran and military entrepreneur community, and veterans in the workplace. Will be held on Tuesday, June 20 from 7:30 am – 9 am at 6564 Loisdale Court, Suite 600 in Springfield, VA. Vet-working is a breakfast networking opportunity hosted by the Greater Springfield Chamber of Commerce’s veterans committee. In addition to networking they’ll have a brief presentation from Insperity. Through its HR outreach services Insperity helps businesses succeed by taking care of the things that could be distracting from the bigger picture. Come for the networking. Enjoy some breakfast.     The Combat Veterans Motorcycle Associations is hosting their first annual Ride to Zero. An annual poker run to end veteran suicide. Saturday, August 26 in Woodstock, MD. Registration is required.
