Due to popular demand, join the USO for a fun, fast paced speed networking session for military spouses in the Fort Belvoir Military Community. On 01/23/20 from 09:30 to 13:30, you'll have the opportunity to learn about the USO, the art of networking, create and practice your elevator pitch and speed network with other military spouses, employers, organizations, and community leaders. Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors Peer Mentor Web-based Training
Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors (TAPS) is providing four Peer Mentor Web-Based Trainings for individuals whose Peer Mentor application has been reviewed and approved by TAPS. TAPS Peer Mentors are the foundation of our mission. If you're 18 months beyond your loss and are ready to be a companion in another's grief journey, consider becoming a peer mentor. These trainings will help Veterans become ready to be the companion to a fellow survivor.
Quantico National Cemetery Wreath Retirement
Volunteers gathered last December to pay respect and honor the veterans buried at Quantico National Cemetery by placing wreaths. Now that the holidays are over, volunteers are needed to help remove the wreaths so that they may be properly disposed of.
Attention: Art Therapists Working with Veterans
Workhouse Arts Center is accepting artwork from licensed art therapists (ATR, ATR-BC, ATR-P) and graduate level art therapy students working as mental healthcare providers to the military veterans (active duty, retired, veteran, reservist).
NOW ENROLLING: NAMI Homefront Online
Registration is now open for NAMI Homefront Online Courses beginning in January 2020. NAMI Homefront is a free, 6-session program for family, friends and significant others of military Service Members and Veterans. The class helps families understand what the Service Member/ Veteran is experiencing related to trauma, combat stress, civilian life transition, PTSD and other mental health conditions. Registration is required.
