The Mile Study Seeks Veteran Voices

George Washington University and the University of Bath have joined forces to conduct a study to explore post-9/11 Veteran stories and how their experiences, especially decisions those made in high stake situations, may impact their health behaviors and long term health. The Mile Study is currently seeking veterans who are interested in sharing the stories of their experiences in the military. If you are a Post 9/11 Veteran, at least 18 years of age and who has had an overseas tour please consider contributing to this study.

Operation Charm City Charge

The Mission Continues needs volunteers to report for duty for Operation Charm City Charge. Volunteer opportunities at various locations throughout Baltimore June 20-27. Join over 100 dedicated volunteers as they help to transform green spaces, spruce up blighted buildings, and support the learning efforts of local public school children throughout the Baltimore community.

Military families, retired Veterans and National Guard – Free Admission May 18 – Sept 2! If you are looking for summer family vacation ideas or you have recently been transferred to this area, you can visit Prince George's County Museums through the Blue Star Museums program! This program offers FREE admission to active duty military personnel and their families, including National Guard and Reserve, from Armed Forces Day, May 18, 2019, through Labor Day, September 2, 2019. Several historic sites and museums in Prince George’s County are participating in the Blue Star Program.

Comedy Writing Workshop with Carter Bays

Join Armed Services Arts Partnership for an exciting comedy writing workshop with How I Met Your Mother (HIMYM) co-creator Carter Bays! Learn how to write a pilot for a television series, from concept to outline to script. Topics will include creating strong characters, crafting a compelling story, and translating it all onto the page. Two sessions available: Saturday, June 22nd from 2-5pm and Sunday, June 23rd from 10am-1pm. Registration is required.

American Military Heritage Museum D-Day Events

Join the American Military Heritage Museum June 9th and June 9th for "The 75th Anniversary of the D-Day Invasion" event. A large collection of WWII equipment and vehicles and displays from various wars are on display. Saturday & Sunday, 9:30am - 5:00pm in Stephens City, VA.

The Winchester-Frederick County Historical Society will host a special museum presentation and display focusing upon D Day, the 6th of June 1944. This living history event will be conducted on Saturday, June 8th from 9:30am-5:00pm.

Join this free event to learn how to scale with social media while on a budget. Many people use social media, but many people don't know HOW to use it build their networks and their brands. It's no longer "Who you know," it's "WHO KNOWS YOU." Thursday, June 6th from 6-9PM at WeWork in DC. Veterans and Active Duty Service Members encouraged to attend. Registration is required.
