VA Community Based Outpatient Clinic in Montgomery County

The Veterans Affairs Community Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC) in Montgomery County, MD is up and running. Please consider having your health care provided there, Effective January 6, 2019 Ride on Bus will run from the Shady Grove and Rockville Metro Stations to the clinic every 30 minutes from 6 am until 8:30 pm. This is a brand new, state of the art facility and there is plenty of ample free on-site parking.

One-Day Free Veterans Legal and Benefits Clinic

The Steven A Cohen Military Family Clinic and the Veterans Consortium ProBono Program are offering a free one day veterans legal clinic on Wednesday, November 28th from 10AM to 6PM. Talk to an attorney for free on a variety of issues to include Veteran Benefits, Disability/Benefits Claims and Landlord/Tenant Law. Appointments are required.

The Poetry of Memory Workshop November 17th

How do we create meaning from memory? The best poetry is written about what we know, and this class will look at how to successfully craft poems out of specific memories. This workshop will take place at the Capitol Post office (625 N Washington St. Ste #425, Alexandria, VA 22314) from 10 AM - 2 PM on Saturday, November 17.  There are a few spaces remaining for this workshop. The session is open to/free for all spouses of service members (active and reserve) and veterans. Applications required.

OSC Launches Veteran Mentor Program

Operation Second Chance has launched a veteran mentor program. The program is designed to ensure the mental, physical and financial readiness of veterans and their families post separation or retirement from the military. Applications for both mentors and mentees are now being accepted.
