VWISE offers FREE Entrepreneurship Training for Women Veterans

Veteran Women Igniting the Spirit of Entrepreneurship (V-WISE) is a premier training program in entrepreneurship and small business management. V-WISE helps women veterans and female military spouses/partners find their passion and learn the business savvy skills necessary to turn an idea or start-up into a growing venture. The next conference will be held in Atlanta in January and applications are open now.

Engage & Retain Veterans in Your Workforce – A Round Table Discussion

Are you an employer with a veteran employee base? Are you a company interested in hiring veterans? How do you support veterans once they are hired? On Friday, November 9th Adventist HealthCare LifeWork Strategies will host an intimate round table discussion with veteran subject-matter experts on a variety of topics including: engagement & retention initiatives, inclusion programming, and employee resource groups. Arcadia’s Veteran Farmer Program – Accepting Applications!

Arcadia Center for Sustainable Food & Agriculture has two training opportunities for veterans who are exploring the idea of farming as a career, have farms, or are committed to farming in their civilian lives. The program is open to veterans, active duty and reserve personnel, as well as military and veteran spouses.

MOAA's Military and Veteran Networking Forum will be held Thursday, September 20 from 6:30 - 10 pm at the Smithsonian Air & Space Museum in DC. An evening of networking and professional development designed to provide those who have served and their families the opportunity to meet industry professionals, hiring managers, executives, and resource specialists. Two designated halls will cater to the needs of transitioning servicemembers, veterans, and military spouses interested in networking with executives, mentors, hiring managers, and resource specialists from top military-friendly companies.

U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development Job Fair is Thursday, August 30, 2018 (9:30a.m. – 3:30 p.m. EDT) at 451 7th Street, SW (Brooke-Mondale Auditorium) Washington, DC 20410. Calling all Veterans, Peace Corps, AmeriCorp and Persons with a Disability. Candidates must be eligible for a noncompetitive appointment. Hiring Officials will be onsite to conduct interviews and Human Resources will be onsite to extend tentative job offers when applicable.

Veterans, military service members and military spouses admission is free.  Registration is required.
