At the Washington Hiring Expo, join the Washington Wizards, Hiring Our Heroes, and Paralyzed Veterans of America to connect directly with recruiters and hiring managers from local and national companies of all sizes. This event is free and is open to active duty service members, Guard and Reserve, veterans, and military spouses. Even better? All registered veteran and military spouse job seekers who attend the hiring expo are eligible to receive up to two free tickets to attend the evening's game between the between the Washington Wizards and the Philadelphia 76ers.
Fort Belvoir Health & Fitness Expo – Jan 17
U.S. Army MWR Sports and Fitness at Fort Belvoir will host a Health and Fitness Expo to provide an overall health assessment experience and knowledge of wellness opportunities on Fort Belvoir and in the community. There will be a variety of exhibitors attending to educate the Fort Belvoir Garrison and Community about sleep, nutrition, and physical activity. They also want to provide participants with wellness strategies to improve their spirituality, mental health, finances, and overall safety.
Horses Help Heroes Host Event December 29th in Bowie, MD
Come out and support Horses Help Heroes at Great Escape Stables at 17620 Central Ave in Bowie on December 29th from 11am to 2pm. We will have pony rides, arts and crafts, grooming, and treats for the horses.
Step into 2019 with a First Day Hike
On Jan. 1, 2019, the Maryland Park Service will offer more than three dozen hikes on more than 30 state lands and parks, as part of a nationwide event sponsored by America’s State Parks. These hikes will provide a wide array of outdoor adventures and experiences for every level of hiker and walker, providing unique access to Maryland’s cultural, historical and natural resources and treasures, along with opportunities for education and stewardship. Many hikes are even pet-friendly.
Montgomery County Volunteer Center Day of Service
On Monday, January 21st, 2019, join the Montgomery County Volunteer Center as together they honor Dr. King's life and teachings at the Montgomery County MLK Day of Service from 1-3 pm at the Bethesda North Marriott Conference Center as well as sites in Silver Spring, Germantown, Gaithersburg, Olney and Rockville. Pre-registration is required for all sites. SSL student service learning hours are available.
Volunteers Needed to Help Address Homelessness
EveryMind’s Homeless Outreach team is partnering with Montgomery County to complete the Up-County Point in Time (PIT) Homeless Count. This is a one night event on January 23, 2019 from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. Over 40 volunteers are needed to make it successful. Consider spending a few hours to help address homelessness in Montgomery County. The results of the Count helps determine the level of services the County needs to provide to support our community’s most vulnerable members.
2019 NBC4 Health & Fitness Expo

Join Operation Gratitude in Preparing 25,000 Care Pouches
Operation Gratitude in partnership with our BRIDGE Council will be assembling 25,000 Operation Gratitude Care Pouches that will be delivered to Law Enforcement Officers, Firefighters and National Guardsmen serving in our nation’s capital and in more than a dozen other cities across America.
