Veterans’ Action League 2.0 Pain Management Discussion

The Veterans' Action League 2.0 is seeking individuals to help shape the future of chronic pain management in the Veteran Community. Please join them for a meeting on Saturday, 9/21 from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm in Fairfax VA to learn more about the project and how veterans in the community can participate and contribute. Eligible stakeholders include veterans, caregivers, clinicians, health system administrators, pubic health officials and policy makers. Food and compensation are included for participation.

Free Film Event

The Frederick County Senior Services Division is co-sponsoring a free movie event to raise awareness of the issues surrounding caregiving and dementia. A screening of "What They Had" will take place from 1-4:30pm on September 26th at the Jack B. Kussmaul Theater, Frederick Community College. Following the screening an expert panel will discuss dementia, caregiving and ways to help the community to become more Dementia Friendly. This is a free event.

We host this event every year because our mission is to raise awareness of the importance of mental health and wellness and reduce the stigma that is often associated with mental health challenges. Through Run for EveryMind, we strive to educate the community while providing an opportunity to engage in a positive, healthy activity that promotes good mental and physical health. 2019 Behavioral Health Symposium

The MD Army National Guard Behavioral Health Team and Resilience, Risk Reduction & Suicide Prevention (R3SP) team are joining forces to host the 2019 Behavioral Health Symposium on Saturday, September 7th at the Dundalk Armory. This year's Symposium will offer Advanced Skills Training in the areas of Suicide Prevention, Substance Abuse, and Resilience. Behavioral health, medical, resilience, suicide intervention, drug testing, military police, and chaplain personnel are encouraged to attend. Martinsburg VA Mental Health Summit

Join the Martinsburg VA Medical Center on Tuesday, August 20th from 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM for their annual Mental Health Summit. This year's event is focused on Suicide Prevention and Access. Operation Tohidu Offering Male MST Retreat

Melwood Veterans Services’ Operation Tohidu is holding a pilot session for male military sexual trauma (MST) survivors September 9 – 13, 2019.  Applications are now being accepted. Mind-Body Skills & Affirmation Stone Workshops

The Steven A. Cohen Military Family Clinic at Easterseals is offering two wellness workshops for veterans and military families on Saturday, July 27th. Join them at 9:30 am for a Mind-Body Skills Workshop facilitated by the American Red Cross Service to the Armed Forces. Stay and take part in the Affirmation Stone Workshop that begins at 10:30am. These events are free and the clinic has plenty of free parking and is metro accessible. Please register to attend.
