Topics include breathing, mindfulness techniques, stretching & movement and more. This is a free event but space is LIMITED and registration is required.
Warrior Herd: Veterans Camaraderie Workshop – Mar 10
Project Horse Empowerment Center in Purcellville, VA is hosting a free Warrior Herd Wellness Workshop on Saturday, March 10 (applications due March 1). This workshop is for VETERANS enabling them to enjoy a restorative and enriching experience together in a serene setting. Warrior Herd is a free strengths-based, horse-powered wellness initiative designed to enhance interpersonal relationships, resiliency and rejuvenation. All horse interactions and activities occur on the ground, and no riding is involved.

Stress Resiliency Course for Military Families and Veterans
Hosted by the Steven A. Cohen Military Family Clinic at Easterseals in Silver Spring MD. This is a 6-session program focused on increasing stress resiliency. Learn about the effects of stress and how to counteract them with behavioral, cognitive, and communication tools. The program is provided at no cost to military families and veterans. Session 1 is Friday, March 2nd from 1300-1430. Registration is required.
VA’s Transition & Care Management (TCM) Program
The TCM Program is designed to serve returning severely injured and/or ill combat (OEF/OIF/OND) and Post 9/11 era Veterans as they transition into the VA or through standard discharge from their respective service back into the community. Learn more about their programs and services.
2018 Military Sexual Trauma Summit April 18
The Veterans Mental Health Advisory Council, in collaboration with DCVAMC Mental Health department, and the MST coordinator, Dr. Tsila Kirsh, is planning an MST Summit to be held on 4/18/2018. The objectives of the MST Summit include: educating participants about the prevalence of MST and how the VA responds to MST; increasing awareness of the available VA and community resources and different modalities of care for Veterans experiencing mental and physical health challenges as a result of MST; and educating participants about the challenges service members face when deciding whether to report assault. Registration is required.
