American Red Cross Launches Mind-Body Workshops
To help members of the military and their families recover and heal from their service, the American Red Cross has created a new series of workshops that engages both the mind and body to address common stress reactions.
Veteran Transition Workshop – Jan 13
The Travis Manion Foundation will be holding a Veteran Transition Workshop on Saturday, January 13 from 12 - 5 pm at their office in Washington DC. Their veteran transition workshops aid veterans in leveraging their strengths, passions & skills to thrive personally and professionally in their post-military lives.
Virginia DVS available monthly at Rust Library in Leesburg
Virginia Department of Veterans Services will provide monthly drop-in services for Veterans at Rust Library in Leesburg on the Third Tuesday of every month from 10 am - 2 pm. Veterans can learn about the free services provided and get assistance with applying for benefits, intermediary for claims filed, and appeals.
VA’s CRRC hosts Christmas Dinner for Veterans – Dec 23
Department of Veteran Affairs Washington, D.C. Community Resource and Referral Center will host a Christmas Dinner for Veterans on Saturday, December 23 from 1 - 4 pm at 1500 Franklin St., NE, in the District.
Warrior Herd: Couples Workshop – Jan 13
Project Horse Empowerment Center in Purcellville, VA will be hosting a Warrior Herd Couples Workshop on Saturday, January 13 from 1 - 3 pm. Warrior Herd™ is comprised of 12 monthly wellness groups to support and enhance the interpersonal relationships between veterans and members of their families. Applications have now opened for Warrior Herd™. Applications due by January 1st.

Salute to the Armed Forces – Jan 23
The Prince William Chamber of Commerce will be holding their annual Salute to the Armed Forces on Tuesday, January 23 from 11 am - 2 pm at the Clubs at Quantico & Crossroads Events Center. Featuring Captain DeShauna Barber, U.S. Army Reserve & Miss USA 2016. Tickets are $45 for Chamber members and $60 for non-members. Ticket includes lunch.
Parenting Skills Group offered at Cohen Clinic at EasterSeals
The Steven A. Cohen Military Family Clinic at Easterseals has started a Parenting Skills Group. It is now open for enrollment for military and veteran families. No cost. Free parking.
