This marks the second year that the state will devote a week to recognize the service and sacrifice of the more than 104,000 women veterans who call Virginia home. The Suicide Prevention Alliance of Northern Virginia (SPAN) is a regional coalition of the Alexandria, Arlington, Fairfax-Falls Church, Loudoun and Prince William Community Services Boards (CSBs) and other groups in Northern Virginia, that work together to raise awareness and share resources to prevent suicide.
The Spouse Transition and Readiness Seminar scheduled for Wednesday 20 February 2019, will prepare spouses for transition from military to civilian life by providing information on Tricare and VA benefits that they may be entitled to; educate them on survivor benefits plan and deadline for accepting this benefit; employment opportunities, etc.
