Our March Collaborative focused on organizations that help veterans access employment and training resources to advance meaningful careers in the community. This will be a 2 part series taking place in March and April, and this month we hosted speakers from local and national entities including: The Baltimore Mayor's Office of Employment Development (MOED), VetJobs/CASY, NPower, and VA's VR&E program.

Veterans Health and Wellness Foundation

In the United States, cardiovascular disease is the number one Killer of women. This statistic is more devastating when considering female Veterans since they are noted to have higher rates of cardiovascular disease than their civilian counterparts. This unique subpopulation of Veterans currently comprises approximately 17% of our active duty service members and represent the fastest growing segment of the military. Today’s forum highlights several key traditional and nontraditional risk factors that impact their cardiovascular health.

Mission Beelieve provides a beekeeping education for local Veterans and First Responders. Their goal is to create a relaxing environment, while educating about the vocational aspects of beekeeping. This program gives a sense of purpose and a way to reconnect with the community.

Lifeline Horse Rescue and Rehabilitation

Lifeline's mission is to use rescued horses to help heal veterans, military, and first responders who may be suffering from a host of debilitating conditions, including depression, anxiety, moral injury, and survivor's guilt. We offer Equine-Assisted Services, including psychotherapy, decompression, and team-building. We currently have in-house an EAGALA Model certified Equine Specialist and three Mental Health Professionals.
