On Thursday, November 1, Navy Federal Credit Union and the NHL will host the 2018 NHL Veterans Appreciation Night Viewing Party. In honor of Veterans Day and this event, Navy Federal is inviting friends of the American Freedom Foundation to enjoy this party. Thursday, November 1. Doors open at 6:30 pm. Registration required.

LSNV is partnering with the Department of Veteran Affairs and Hilton to provide a Pro Bono Veterans Legal Check-Up Clinic. November 9 from 10 am - 11 am at the Hilton Office's in Tysons Corner, VA. This free clinic is for any former servicemember that is eligible for LSNV services.

Veterans Day Field of Honor at George C Marshall High School
George C. Marshall High School's Class of 2019 will celebrate the Veterans Day holiday by creating a Field of Honor in front of the high school along Route 7. We invite you to support the Field of Honor and the class of 2019 by sponsoring a flag(s) to honor the men and women who have served in the U.S. military. For each flag sold, GCM will make a donation to ServingTogether and can send an e-card to the family or the honoree to let them know they have been honored with a photo of the Field of Honor.

The Wounded Warrior Experience – Oct 25
The Wounded Warrior Experience features inspiring stories of sacrifice and recovery from wounded veterans and service members. Hosted by Jennifer Griffin, National Security Correspondent of Fox News Channel, the program touches on issues faced by wounded warriors, the resources available to them, and their successes in moving forward in their lives. The program, now in its nineth year, highlights the importance of aiding America’s heroes during their transition from military to civilian life. Thursday, October 25 from 6 - 10 pm at William G. McGowan Theater - The National Archives (700 Pennsylvania Ave NW, Washington, DC).

The Mid-Atlantic ADA Center and TransCen, Inc. present and upcoming webinar on Welcoming Veterans with Disabilities into the Workplace. Wednesday, November 7 from 2:00 - 3:30 PM Eastern. This session is designed to educate the business community about veterans with disabilities who are transitioning to the workplace. Participants will explore how to create a welcoming environment for veterans with disabilities and learn about the unique aspects of military culture. The presenters will discuss attitudes and behaviors that can affect veterans with disabilities, and examine how that might impact employee engagement in the business culture.
