Community 5 Year Celebration

Willing Warriors will celebrate the five-year anniversary of the Warrior Retreat at Bull Run on AUGUST 22TH, 2020.  This event is open to the public and will include a Corvette Show, live music, 50/50 raffle, games, contests, vendors, tours of the guest lodging houses, food and beer! Willing Warriors provides cost-free retreat stays and programs that positively impact the recovery process of our nation’s wounded, injured, and ill service members and disabled Veterans.  The Retreat experience offers the Warriors and their families a much-needed break from prolonged hospital care to relax, enjoy quality time, and reconnect in an intimate, home-like setting.

Veterans and the Arts Initiative: Dominion Energy Veterans Guitar Workshop Series Fall 2020

Have you always wanted to try the guitar, or are you looking for tips to improve your technique? Musicians of all skill levels are invited to participate in an 8-week series of virtual lessons with Glen McCarthy, guitar instructor at George Mason University. These teleworkshops are FREE to Veterans, Servicemembers, their families, and military caregivers.

Relying on Creativity to Cope with Stress

Join Arts in the Armed Forces (AITAF) as Hollywood actors Maechi Aharanwa (Placeholders, 30 Rock), Scott Cohen (Gilmore Girls), and Annie Golden (Orange is the New Black) participate in a robust conversation about the role creativity plays in your daily life in the military and how art sustains you through difficult times. AITAF will also discuss upcoming opportunities for engagement and scholarships, and attendees will have the chance to ask actors questions.
