The Armed Services Arts Partnership (ASAP) invites you to a memorable evening of live music, laughter, and striking stories from their community of veteran-artists and special guests. Featuring performances by veteran comedians, musicians, and storytellers, the event will showcase our veteran-artists’ creative work and share the impact of the arts in their lives.  Reception 6:30 pm, Show 7:30 pm. NAACP Branch Event: Veterans Open House

Join the NAACP Montgomery County Branch for the Armed Forces and Veteran Affairs Committee 2nd Annual Open House on Friday, November 15th from 1:00-5:00 PM at the Rockville Memorial Library. Meet and greet with Pvt. Indiana Hunt-Martin (Retired) WWII Survivor of 6888 Postal Battalion and Edna W. Cummings Col. US Army (Retired) Six Triple Eight Advocate/Producer. A showing of the award winning film "Six Triple Eight" will begin at 2pm.

National Cathedral Tribute to Veterans

November 10 at 7PM please join Washington National Cathedral for our annual Veterans Concert and Tribute! The President’s Own Marine Chamber Orchestra will be accompanied by the Cathedral Choir to provide music to honor all those who have served. Speakers, including Tim Chambers, The Saluting Marine, and Michele S. Jones, the first woman in the United States Army Reserve to reach the position of Command Sergeant Major of the U.S. Army Reserve, will share their experiences and offer wisdom and reflections to inspire those in attendance. Free and open to the public, no RSVP required.

Art Exhibit: Exploring Identity with Women Veterans

Join the Hylton Performing Arts Center for an exhibition of local women veteran art. The exhibition features the work of seven women who served during the Vietnam War-era through post 9/11-era and in several branches of the military. Thursday, November 7th from 6:00-8:00 PM. RSVP by November 4th.

Resilience Movie Screening & Panel

Join Fusion Academy & its community partners for a FREE screening of the powerful and informative movie, RESILIENCE: The Biology of Stress & the Science of Hope. Thursday, October 10 from 6:30 - 8:30 PM at Trillium Farm Gathering Center - The Home of Project Horse Empowerment Center in Purcellville, VA. Registration is recommended.

The Crash Reel Film Screening

Join Brain Injury Services for a one-night screening of The Crash Reel, the story of Kevin Pearce's snowboarding career and his inspiring comeback from a life-changing brain injury. Wednesday, October 16th at 7:30pm in Fairfax, VA. There is a cost associated with this event.

Bunker Brews App Development Event

Tuesday, October 1st from 5:30 PM – 7:30 PM EDT in Washington DC. Bring an app idea to life using Keynote for iPad. You’ll sketch an app interface and use shapes, text, and linked slides to show how the app functions. By the end of the session, you’ll have a working app prototype. Bring your iPad or one will be provided. The training is recommended for beginners interested in app development, but all are welcome! Registration is requested.

BBQ, Veteran-Owned Craft Brews & Music Event

Join Northern Virginia Veterans Association for the most scrumptious Pork BBQ in the region! Along with some of the best Veteran-Owned Craft Brews and live music by Rip Tide this will be an amazing time at American Legion Post 28 in Triangle, Virginia. Saturday, October 5th from 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM. Bring the family to enjoy more than the BBQ and Beer, there will be other fun foods and drink and a kids zone for the younger ones. Veteran vendors will be around to share their services and wares, and with the fantastic weather planned you can't beat this for an awesome Saturday afternoon in October!

Met Vets Acting Class for Veterans

Maryland Ensemble Theatre in conjunction with Vet Arts Connect is offering a studio-style acting class FREE of charge for all veterans of the US military. Two ten-week courses will be offered in two semesters starting September 24, 2019 and culminating in a final showing for friends and family in May 2020. Veterans will build connections to the group, gain strength in performance and preparation, and have an opportunity to build performance pieces based on personal story work. Registration required.

Veteran Improv Workshop

Introductory Improv for Military Veterans. Whether you have always wanted to step onstage and make an audience laugh, or the thought of speaking in public terrifies you; this class is for you. You will learn how to use improv to focus on using communication, collaboration, trust and acceptance as the central tools to generate creativity. Six Thursday evening sessions begin starting 9/19 from 7:00-9:00PM. This class is free to veterans. Registration is required.
