Warrior Herd: Private Family Workshops June 2 & 9

Project Horse Empowerment Center will hold 2 upcoming Warrior Herd sessions in June on the 2nd and 9th from 10 am - 11:30 am. These are private family sessions for military, veterans and their families. Simple online application due 7 days prior to session.

Virginia Women Veterans Summit – June 14 & 15

2018 Virginia Women Veterans Summit will be held Thursday and Friday June 14 & 15 at the Hilton Alexandria Mark Center. This event brings together veterans, community leaders, employers, and government agencies from the federal, state, and local levels to raise awareness about the services and benefits offered specifically for women veterans. The summit will also host exhibitors whose mission involves the wellness and wholeness of women veterans and feature notable presenters.

Project Horse Open House – Military & Veterans Family Appreciation Day – May 19

Project Horse will be holding an Open House weekend on May 19 & 20. Saturday, May 19 will feature a special day for Military & Veterans Family Appreciation Day! Special Honor Ceremony at 1 pm. Ending with live music!

Military Members: Join Blue Star Families for a Capitol Concert

Active Duty and National Guard/Reserve members can volunteer to be a part of the National Memorial Day Concert and A Capitol Fourth, America’s National Independence Day Celebration. Volunteer service members will represent all men and women in the armed forces as special guests. Registering enters you for an opportunity to attend this year’s concerts. Due to popular demand, attendees will be randomly selected. Seating is limited so please sign up early. Selected attendees will be notified by email with further event details.

Armed Forces Day Luncheon – May 24

The Middleburg Community Center will be hosting their first ever National Armed Forces Day Celebration. The event will be held on Thursday May 24th from noon – 2pm. Veterans of all eras and their families are invited.

Mental Health & Community Awareness Conference – May 18

The DC VA Medical Center's Veterans Mental Health Advisory Council is supporting a Mental Health & Community Awareness Conference including discussion on the opioid crisis. It will be held at 1901 Mississippi Ave SE, Washington, DC on Friday, May 18, 2018 from 8:30 am - 6:00 pm.

Veterans Open Mic May 22nd

Veterans and their families deal with a range of experiences, both when they serve and after they leave the military. Join us on May 22 at 6pm for an open mic that uses the tools of performance art such as poetry, comedy, and storytelling to address these complicated issues and to help us gain insight into veterans’ lives and experiences. The event will be held at New Spire Spaces at 115 E Church St, Frederick MD. Registration is required to attend and/or to perform.
