Engage & Retain Veterans in Your Workforce – A Round Table Discussion

Are you an employer with a veteran employee base? Are you a company interested in hiring veterans? How do you support veterans once they are hired? On Friday, November 9th Adventist HealthCare LifeWork Strategies will host an intimate round table discussion with veteran subject-matter experts on a variety of topics including: engagement & retention initiatives, inclusion programming, and employee resource groups. The event will take place from 8:00 - 11:00 AM in Gaithersburg, MD. Space is limited and registration is required.

Federal Resume Workshop

Applying for a federal job can be tedious and time-consuming. It is important to understand how you look on paper when looking for a job and this is accomplished by a strong resume. The purpose of this workshop is to teach the Ten Steps approach to apply for a federal job through USAJobs or direct hire. Multiple events available from November 2, 2018 to December 1, 2018. Registration is required.

Veteran Resource Fair – November 8th

Disabled Veterans National Foundation is holding a Veterans Resource Fair on Thursday, November 8th from 9 AM - 2 PM in Silver Spring, MD. The event will feature employment services, resource booths, free food, free suits, comfort kits and gift cards. Walk-ins are accepted but but preregistration is recommended.

Warriors To Workforce – Oct 8 & 9

The American Freedom Foundation will host Warriors To The Workforce Washington (WTTW) presented by GES (Global Experience Specialist) in association with Easter Seals' Veteran Staffing Network and in conjunction with the AUSA Annual Meeting and Exposition 2018 on October 8 - 9, 2018 in Washington, DC. Booth #261. This one of a kind event is part of the American Freedom Foundation’s nationwide initiative to help our Veterans, transitioning military service members and military spouses find meaningful employment. 

Military Spouse Hiring Event – Sept 20

Hiring Our Heroes will be holding a Ft. Belvoir Military Spouse Hiring Event Thursday, September 20 from 10 am - 1 pm at the Community Center on Fort Belvoir. This event is free and is open to all military, veteran, and Gold Star spouses, as well as employers and service organizations. Service members and veterans are also welcome.

Veteran Curation Program Hiring for Positions Beginning Nov 2018

The Veterans Curation Program in Alexandria, VA is hiring for both full-time and part-time positions for a five month session beginning early November 2018. The VCP program is a five-month employment and training program, during which veterans receive training in archaeological processing.
