The next meeting of the Southern Maryland Veterans Collaborative is 10 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. on February 7, 2019, at Charlotte Hall Veterans Home.

Healing Waters Frederick Event Oct 23rd

Healing Waters Fly Fishing Program has started a Frederick Maryland Chapter. Are you a disabled veteran who wants to learn more about fly fishing? Healing Waters is a 501(c)(3) dedicated to the physical and emotional rehabilitation of disabled active service members and veterans through fly fishing and associated activities. Come learn more at the Frederick Chapter open house on Tuesday, October 23rd from 7:00-9:00 PM.

Cohen Military Family Clinic at Easterseals is partnering with ServingTogether, a program of EveryMind to offer a Mental Health First Aid: Military and Veteran Module 8 hour course.  If you a veteran or an individual working with veterans in our community this is the training for you. The S Word Screening October 25th

Join us on October 25th for a screening of The S Word, a ground breaking documentary that shatters the silence around suicide and reveals a movement of survivors from a cross-section of America fighting to change how we deal with our ultimate taboo. The screening will be held at the AFI Silver Theater and Cultural Center and doors open at 6pm. Advance reservation required.

Thank You for Your Service Documentary Screening

Join Hospice of Frederick County on Wednesday, 10/17 from 6 to 8 P.M. for a screening of "Thank You For Your Service", a powerful 2015 documentary by Tom Donahue that takes aim at the flawed mental health policies within the U.S. Military. The screening will be followed by a panel discussion of community mental health resources. This is a free event but space is limited and registration is recommended.

Veteran Resource Fair – November 8th

Disabled Veterans National Foundation is holding a Veterans Resource Fair on Thursday, November 8th from 9 AM - 2 PM in Silver Spring, MD. The event will feature employment services, resource booths, free food, free suits, comfort kits and gift cards. Walk-ins are accepted but but preregistration is recommended.
