This year’s Western Region Conference will cover several topics concerning veteran behavioral health from challenges of female veterans to Traumatic Brain Injury. CEU's are available. Run as One in DC – April 13th

Run As One is a unique engagement opportunity where members of Team Red, White & Blue, Team Rubicon, and The Mission Continues, along with members of their community and veteran supporters come together for a day of solidarity to showcase how exercise, community, and inclusivity combine to combat mental health challenges. The local Run As One even will be held in Washington, D.C. on Saturday, April 13. Participants will begin gathering at 8:30 a.m. at the American Red Cross (1730 E Street NW, Washington, DC 20006) and head toward our starting point on the National Mall at 9 a.m. There will be 2 options to accommodate all interests, including a 3-mile run and a 2-mile ruck/walk. Registration is required.

Opioid Epidemic Workshop with Congressman David Trone

A workshop hosted by Congressman David Trone to discuss ow the opioid epidemic has affected residents of the 6th Maryland district and the steps to combat addiction. The workshop will feature a panel discussion of leading experts in the field. There will also be representatives from local and regional organizations who will provide resources and information regarding the opioid epidemic.

Join EveryMind, Adventist HealthCare, Holy Cross Health, MedStar Montgomery Medical Center, Suburban Hospital and Healthy Montgomery for a community dialogue on suicide prevention. Learn about how you can help your family, friends and neighbors who may be struggling with thoughts of suicide and/or a mental illness. The webinar will include a hopeful story of recovery from a suicide attempt survivor and a brief presentation on steps you can take to help someone who may be in distress from a local expert on suicide prevention. NAMI Homefront Now Offered Online!

NAMI Homefront is a class for families, caregivers and friends of military service members and veterans with mental health conditions. The course is designed specifically to help these families understand those challenges and improve their ability to support their service member or veteran. Online modules of the courses are now being offered. Registration is now open form the April 15th course.

Today Kevin is on a mission to help others, traveling the world to speak about suicide prevention and mental health, telling his story to help others stay alive. Registration is required.

Caregiver Resources Lunch & Learn March 21st

This workshop will cover resources for individuals who are caring for military service members and veterans. Topics will also include warning signs that a military service member or veteran may be in crisis. A discussion of resources will include Coaching into Care, the VA Caregiver Support Program, as well as State and Nonprofit resources.
