Join the NAACP Montgomery County Branch for the Armed Forces and Veteran Affairs Committee 2nd Annual Open House on Friday, November 15th from 1:00-5:00 PM at the Rockville Memorial Library. Meet and greet with Pvt. Indiana Hunt-Martin (Retired) WWII Survivor of 6888 Postal Battalion and Edna W. Cummings Col. US Army (Retired) Six Triple Eight Advocate/Producer. Wills for Heroes Event November 16
On Saturday, November 16th, lawyers will be at the American Legion, 6900 Greenbelt Road, Greenbelt, MD conducting the Wills for Heroes program for veterans and their spouses/domestic partners. Volunteer lawyers will be available for appointments starting at 10:30 AM and ending at 3:30 PM. Each appointment will last approximately one (1) hour and at the conclusion you will have a notarized legal document to take home with you. Appointments required.

National Cathedral Tribute to Veterans
November 10 at 7PM please join Washington National Cathedral for our annual Veterans Concert and Tribute! The President’s Own Marine Chamber Orchestra will be accompanied by the Cathedral Choir to provide music to honor all those who have served. Speakers, including Tim Chambers, The Saluting Marine, and Michele S. Jones, the first woman in the United States Army Reserve to reach the position of Command Sergeant Major of the U.S. Army Reserve, will share their experiences and offer wisdom and reflections to inspire those in attendance. Free and open to the public, no RSVP required.

Veteran Suit Drive and Birthday Bash at the Cohen Clinic
This month the Steven A Cohen Military and Family Clinic is holding two great events. Join them on Saturday, November 9th from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm for the First Annual Veteran Suit Drive. Male and female veterans will have the opportunity to select from a wide variety array of new and gently-used professional work ensembles. On Wednesday, November 13th come back to the Cohen Clinic from 3:00-7:00 PM to help them celebrate their two year Birthday Bash! Both events held at their location in Silver Spring, MD.
America’s Veterans: The Next Mission
Join The Hill on Thursday, November 14th as they shine a light on the unique challenges members of the armed forces face as they return home and discuss efforts to support veterans as they move from the battlefield to the homefront. Headlining speakers include: Sen. Todd Young, Sen. Jon Tester and Gen. (Ret) George W. Casey. This event is being held at the Newseum in DC at 8:00 am. Registration is required.

Prince George’s County Veterans Stand Down Nov 4
On Saturday, November 2nd Prince George's County will hold a Veterans Stand Down and Homeless Resource Day event. This event is intended for Prince George's County Veterans and persons who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. The event will be held from 10:00am to 3:00pm at the Wayne K. Curry Sports & Learning Complex in Landover, MD.
