Tuesday, April 10th from 5:00-8:00pm in Laurel, MD. An event to provide local veterans the opportunity to meet with businesses and non-profit organizations dedicated to providing services, support and jobs to veterans. All Active, Guard and Reserve veterans are invited to attend.
Free BBQ Sandwich for Vietnam Veterans at Mission BBQ – March 29
Mission BBQ will be giving out free BBQ sandwiches to Vietnam Veterans on March 29 - National Vietnam War Memorial Day.
American Humane Shelter to Service Program
American Humane has recently launched the Shelter to Service program to provide service dogs for Veterans with service-related PTS and TBI and is looking for looking for veterans who have been diagnosed with PTS and TBI as a result of their military service and are interested in receiving a service dog to help with their symptoms.
Co-Working Week at Capitol Post – Mar 26-30
The week of March 26th is Spring Break for most local schools. So, come in for a FREE co-working week at Capitol Post. Join for a few hours, a day, or the whole week. DC Strategy Session #2
Join ServingTogether, the Institute for Veterans and Military Families (IVMF), and community providers serving veterans, service members and their families in DC for Strategy Session #2 of the AmericaServes initiative. Friday, March 23rd from 10 am - 1 pm at the DC Mayor's Office of Veteran Affairs. During this community session, we are convening providers and partners to discuss coordinating care in our community. Our goal is to better serve our military-connected community members, and we will be discussing the AmericaServes solution in more depth. Registration is required.
DC Bourbiz: The Veteran/Military Spouse Resource Event – Apr 26
Bourbiz is back in DC with its Spring Event. The new and improved BourBiz Networking format. Veterans and Military Spouses come network with resources ranging from Matchmaking for Businesses, to personal and professional development support in a relaxed, yet high energy environment. Veterans in Business Conference – March 22
The Veterans in Business Conference returns for its 13th year of providing education, networking and business opportunities for military community (including Veterans, active duty, National Guard, Reservists and military spouses) who continue to strengthen our country with their small business endeavors and entrepreneurial spirit. Thursday, March 22 from 7:45 - 3:30 pm at the Army Navy Country Club in Arlington, VA.
Community Meeting on Military Veterans & Their Families
Saturday, March 10th from 12:00 - 2:00 pm at The American Legion Francis Scott Key Post 11, Frederick MD. A free event to include a panel of experts to discuss challenges facing military veterans and their families and the resources needed to support them in the future. This is a free event and will include a lunch buffet. Registration is required.
Military Hiring Event – Mar 27
At Hiring Our Heroes' Washington DC Hiring Expo with the Washington Wizards, you’re invited to connect directly with recruiters and hiring managers from local and national companies of all sizes. All registered veteran and military spouse job seekers who attend the hiring expo are eligible to receive up to two free tickets to attend the evening's game between the Wizards and the San Antonio Spurs. This event is free and is open to active duty service members, Guard and Reserve, veterans, and military spouses.
