Honor Flight Opportunity for Veterans in Northern Virginia

Honor Flight - Top of Virginia is currently accepting applications for Mission #11 Trip leaving from Loudoun County on Saturday, June 6, 2020. World War II, Korean War and Vietnam Veterans are encouraged to join this event. Volunteers are also needed to serve as Guardians to veterans. 

Pursuing Peace of Mind: A Retreat with a Spanish Soldier and Saint

What do you and a Wounded Warrior from the 1500s have in common? Are you looking for inner peace and ways to promote gratitude in your life? Please Join Fellow Veterans, Active Duty Military and Caregivers on Saturday, March 7 to learn and explore the world of Saint Ignatius of Loyola, a Spanish solider. Experience a taste of two of his “exercises,” and practice the Examen prayer, a tool to promote interior peace and gratitude. All are welcome!

Veteran Peer Support Groups in Northern Virginia

Veteran Peer Support Groups are facilitated by veterans and are designed to address the needs of Veterans, by providing a relaxed and confidential environment to share post military and transitional experiences with other veterans. In a peer-to-peer format, the groups strive to support one another in improving self-reliance and self-advocacy, and encouraging veterans in their pursuit of wellness.

The Veterans and the Arts Initiative invites you to a public presentation by George Mason University’s Hylton Performing Arts Center, Sports Medicine Assessment Research and Testing (SMART) Lab, and the Department of Social Work. Findings will be presented from their collaborative research study that was funded by the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA).

Mission Healthy Relationships Workshop for Couples

A relationship enrichment workshop for committed couples who may be experiencing relational stressors to include Military Operational Stress perhaps from deployments, the effects of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and/or Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI). There is no cost to participate in this workshop. Hotel Room and Meals are provided.

This event is Free and Open to the Public. Everyone is welcome to support local veteran entrepreneurs, shop quality good and services. A portion of the proceeds will go to a veteran non-profit.
