Ruck to Remember’s 60 to 60 – May 27

6th Annual Ruck to Remember's 60 to 60 will be held on Saturday, May 27. Registration is now open. 60 to 60 is a 60-mile hike/ruck also known as a mission to honor our fallen and empower those still coming home wearing the wounds of war. More then an event - Every step will remind you of why you are there as you focus on Honoring, Empowering and Remembering our War fighters both past and present. Open to both Civilians and Veterans - this mission will cement a level of camaraderie so deep you will create friendships that will last a life time.

Armed Services Art Partnership has partnered with Story District to offer a free storytelling class for veterans, service members, military families, and caregivers. Turn good stories into great performances in this five-week Storytelling 101 course. Registration required.

Dominion Energy Veteran Guitar Workshop Series – Spring 2018

The Hylton Performing Arts Center's Veterans and the Arts Initiative will be kicking off their Dominion Energy Veteran Guitar Workshop Series in February 2018. Holding Level I and Level II sessions on Tuesdays from February 20 through April 24. These sessions are free for veterans, servicemembers, and their families and caregivers! The Montgomery County Commission on People with Disabilities and Commission on Veterans Affairs has completed the Transportation Network Directory for People with Disabilities & Adults 50+ website. The website contains information about private and public transportation. It also includes information on reduced fees on Metro for Veterans with a disability.

American Legion Post 41 Launches Fund Raising Effort for Veterans

American Legion Post 41 in Silver Spring, MD has coordinated with the American Legion and VFW department of NC and is launching "Operation Lumberton County Vet Support" to assist with the needs of veterans and family members who suffered loses due to Hurricane Matthew.
