• Vets Hike Across Maryland November 11th

    Join Veterans Hike Across Maryland on Veterans Day, November 11th for the fifth and final section of this year’s MD hike from Gathland State Park to Harpers Ferry. Hikes are free to veterans who have registered and agreed to complete a short survey. The purpose of the hikes are to introduce veterans to the physical and mental benefits of hiking in a wilderness setting. Hikes will be led by trained, volunteer hike leaders from the Mid-Atlantic Hiking Group, in small groups of approximately 15 to 20 hikers per hike leader.

    Free claims clinic open to all veterans. November 10 & 11th, 9am-5pm. Georgetown University Hotel and Conference Center. Presented by Women Veterans Interactive and the Department of Veterans Affairs. Appointments recommended.

  • VA Veterans Focus Group

    The DC VA Medical Center will host a Veterans Focus Group on Patient Satisfaction and Mental Health Stigma on December 12th from 11am-1pm. Lunch will be provided. Pre-event screening and registration required.

  • Free Discharge Upgrade Clinic November 8th

    November 8, 2017. 10am to 2pm. Washington DC. Talk to an attorney for free who can help you with your military discharge upgrade issues.

  • HeroHaven Homeless Stand Down

    November 4th at the Martinsburg VA Medical Center. An event to provide medical screenings, employment support and housing services to eligible homeless veterans. 9am-2pm.

  • Everything You Need to Know – Bridging the Gap to Veterans and their Services

    Join subject matter experts and explore topics you and your family will need to know to make the transition from military to civilian life. Friday, October 20th from 9:00am to 12:00pm. Anne Arundle County Career Center. Registration is required.

  • Dog Tag Inc Fellowship Program Applications Being Accepted

    The Dog Tag Inc. Fellowship works in partnership with Georgetown University to deliver a professional development program designed to prepare military veterans with service connected disabilities, spouses and caregivers to find success as they transition into the civilian workforce. Applications for the January 2018 fellowship program are being accepted now through October 18th.

  • Vet2Vet Training – Oct 21

    ACTS is launching a Vet2Vet program in November. They are in need of volunteers. They will be holding a training on Saturday, October 21 from 9 am – 5 pm to get veterans trained to begin running the program on Nov 11.

  • Blue Star Caregivers Community Family Event

    Join fellow Caregivers and their families on an exclusive tour of the exterior of the Washington National Cathedral. Saturday, October 21st from 2:30-4:30pm. Registration is required.
