• Honor Flight Guardian Training – Sept 25

    The DCA Honor Flight will be hosting an upcoming guardian training on Monday, September 25 at 5:45 pm at the Capitol Post (625 N Washington St, Suite 425, Alexandria, VA 22314).

  • Free REVIVE Training – Sept 27

    Loudoun County Department of Mental Health, Substance Abuse and Development Services will be hosting a REVIVE! training. This training can help provide you with the skills and tools to administer Nalozone, that can safe an individual that is having an opioid overdose. Free Narcan nasal spray will be dispensed at training.

  • Wills for Vets

    The Prince William Agency on Aging, partnership with the Prince William Bar Association is once again sponsoring a “Wills for Veterans” Program. The Prince William Bar Association will be drafting 1) Will and Testaments, 2) Power of Attorneys, and 3) Medical Directives for the Veteran (and their spouse/caregiver) in the Tri-jurisdictional areas of PWC, Manassas, and Manassas Park -FREE! All veterans are encouraged to participate who do not have a Will, Power of Attorney and/or Medical Directives. Space is limited to the first 80 veterans/spouses who sign-up w/ an RSVP to guarantee participation.

  • Free Writing Workshop for Veterans at Montgomery County Public Libraries

    Montgomery County Public Libraries (MCPL) is offering a free six-session workshop open for veterans, service members, and their adult family members. The six-session workshop will take place at the Rockville Memorial library, 21 Maryland Ave., Rockville, on Saturdays, September 30, October 7, 14, 21, 28 & November 4 1:00 to 3:00 pm. Registration is required.

    The Montgomery County Commission on Veterans Affairs Presents a screening & post screening discussion of “Is Anybody Listening?” Tuesday, September 19th 6-8pm in Rockville MD. Free and open to the public.

    Join Platoon 22 at Rally in the Valley 2017 on October 21, 2017 at the Frederick Fairgrounds! For one day thousands unite to raise awareness and support our veterans. Tickets can be purchased ahead of time for this fundraising event.

  • Prince George’s Community College Veteran Resource Fair September 14th

    Come out for a day to learn about military and veteran related organizations and resources within the community. This event is open to all active duty,veterans, spouses, dependents, and/or caregivers.

  • Guitar Lessons with Glen McCarthy – Free for Military & Veterans!

    Hylton Performing Arts Center will be holding Guitar Lessons with Glen McCarthy on Tuesdays from September 5 through November 5 from 7 – 8 pm. FREE for Veterans, Servicemembers, their families, and military caregivers.

  • DC Networking Reception and Hiring Expo with the Washington Nationals

    Join Hiring Our Heroes for a job fair for service members, veterans, and military spouses at Nationals Park in Washington, DC. Wednesday, September 6, 2017 to Thursday, September 7, 2017. All registered veterans and military spouses are eligible to receive up to two free tickets to attend that evening’s game between the Nationals and the Phillies. The night before the hiring fair, please join the Hiring Our Heroes Military Spouse Program for a networking reception in at Capital One Headquarters in McLean, VA.   • Fighting for Another Tomorrow Charity Golf Tournament September 13th

    Announcing the Fighting for Another Tomorrow Charity Golf Tournament to benefit the Platoon 22 on September 13, 2017. The event will include a 4-person best ball, breakfast, lunch and awards receptions following the golf. There will be raffles, a silent auction and many on course games!! Registration is required.
