Coffee Conversations and Careers 2019 Summer Series powered by The Starbucks Foundation. Women veterans and women in the military! It's time to transition with confidence! The Summer Series consists of in-person Community-Based Workforce Development Workshops complete with fun "Coffee Tastings" and convenient Virtual Sessions you can attend from anywhere. Various dates beginning 6/15 through 7/25.

Corporate Gray Military-Friendly Job Fair

You are invited to attend the June 21st Corporate Gray Military-Friendly Job Fair at the Waterford Reception Center in Springfield and meet face-to-face with a variety of top employers. Job fair hours are 9 am to 12 noon, with an Employer Panel discussion for job seekers at 8 am.  Pre-registration is available.

Stars and Stripes Night with Frederick Keys

Join Coalition to Salute America's Heroes on July 3rd at Stars and Stripes Night with the Frederick Keys vs. the Lynchburg Hillcats. The Stars and Stripes night at the ballpark will feature special military and veteran programming including Fireworks, Patriotic Hat Auction, and Fundraising for Heroes. Each ticket purchased for this game donates a ticket to a local veteran, active duty military or first responder. Operation Charm City Charge

The Mission Continues needs volunteers to report for duty for Operation Charm City Charge. Volunteer opportunities at various locations throughout Baltimore June 20-27. Join over 100 dedicated volunteers as they help to transform green spaces, spruce up blighted buildings, and support the learning efforts of local public school children throughout the Baltimore community.

Military Culture and Suicide Prevention Summit June 17 Fairfax

Virginia Department of Behavioral Health & Developmental Services invites you to attend the Military Culture and Suicide Prevention Summits held throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia beginning in May through August. The Summit will increase military cultural competency and bolster regional partnerships between Veterans Health Administration (VHA) Facilities, Virginia Department of Veterans Services, Military Treatment Facilities, National Guard, and Community Services Providers. Participants will also receive information on best practices for suicide prevention among Military Service Members, Veterans, and Families (SMVF). The Summit in Fairfax, VA is June 17th. Registration is open.

Comedy Writing Workshop with Carter Bays

Join Armed Services Arts Partnership for an exciting comedy writing workshop with How I Met Your Mother (HIMYM) co-creator Carter Bays! Learn how to write a pilot for a television series, from concept to outline to script. Topics will include creating strong characters, crafting a compelling story, and translating it all onto the page. Two sessions available: Saturday, June 22nd from 2-5pm and Sunday, June 23rd from 10am-1pm. Registration is required.

American Military Heritage Museum D-Day Events

Join the American Military Heritage Museum June 9th and June 9th for "The 75th Anniversary of the D-Day Invasion" event. A large collection of WWII equipment and vehicles and displays from various wars are on display. Saturday & Sunday, 9:30am - 5:00pm in Stephens City, VA.

The Winchester-Frederick County Historical Society will host a special museum presentation and display focusing upon D Day, the 6th of June 1944. This living history event will be conducted on Saturday, June 8th from 9:30am-5:00pm.

Join this free event to learn how to scale with social media while on a budget. Many people use social media, but many people don't know HOW to use it build their networks and their brands. It's no longer "Who you know," it's "WHO KNOWS YOU." Thursday, June 6th from 6-9PM at WeWork in DC. Veterans and Active Duty Service Members encouraged to attend. Registration is required.
