Midnight Pilgrimage for Veterans
Join Vet Church and the Veterans Spirituality Ministry at Washington National Cathedral for a late night pilgrimage at the Cathedral. Gathering outside the cathedral just before midnight, we'll undertake a journey of healing, connection, and blessing as we move into the building and are led in periods of silence and song, guided reflection and shared prayer. Those of all faiths and none are welcome.
Garden of Jokes – A Veterans Comedy Show
Up Top Acres and the Armed Services Arts Partnership (ASAP) are joining forces once more to host another special Veterans Comedy Show at one of Up Top's rooftop farms. This performance will feature comedians who have graduated from ASAP's Comedy Bootcamp program, the first stand-up comedy class in the country for veterans. The event will provide a platform for veteran comedians to showcase their talents and tell their hilarious stories in front of members of the DC community. Saturday, June 23rd from 7:30-10:00PM. Tickets are $15.
Exploring Stress and Trauma June 20th
Presented by the American Red Cross and hosted by the Steven A. Cohen Military Family Clinic This workshop is designed to help veterans and their families recognize and manage post deployment stress and other war related concerns, including trauma issues. Left unaddressed, stress and trauma can lead to a variety of negative outcomes for the veteran and their families. Wednesday, June 20th from 6:30-8:30pm. Registration is required. Free child care is available by request.
Traveling Film and Exhibit about the Tuskegee Airmen
See, hear and "feel" the story of the Tuskegee Airmen, the obstacles they encountered and what they achieved as America's first Black military pilots and their support personnel. Wednesday, June 13 thru Saturday, June 16. The film creates the feeling of being inside the cockpit of a P-51C Mustang. FREE Admission. 9AM-4:15PM. Registration is required.
Pride Open Mic @ Dog Tag Bakery
Armed Services Arts Partnership (ASAP) and Dog Tag Bakery are partnering to host an interdisciplinary Open Mic show at 7:00PM on Thursday, June 14th. In honor of Pride month, this open mic will highlight the stories and experiences of LGBTQAI veterans, service members, military family members, and caregivers. ASAP is currently looking for 12-14 performers to take the stage.
Telehealth Intake Appointments Available at Fort Belvoir
The Steven A. Cohen Military Family Clinic at Easterseals has recently launched telehealth services for veterans and their families. Beginning June 1, 2018, they will offer intake appointments at the USO on Fort Belvoir every Friday from 10 am - 1 pm.
June Veterans Business Council Boot Camp – June 14
The Prince William Chamber of Commerce's fiscal year ends June 30th so the next and last scheduled Veterans Council meeting for this fiscal year is Thursday, June 14th from 9:00am-11:00am (NOTE: extended timeline) at their Headquarters at 9720 Capital Court, Suite 203 Manassas, VA 20110.
USO-Metro Baby Sprinkle for military moms-to-be – June 16
USO-Metro will host a Baby Sprinkle for military moms-to-be on Saturday, June 16 from 10:30 am - 1 pm in Vienna, VA. This is a lottery drawing format and 30 expectant active duty military ladies and active duty spouses due within the next 6 months will be invited to join a day of fun and games, networking, and education from industry experts. Register by 9 am on June 7.

Operation FINALLY HOME a 501(c)3 working nationally to provide custom-built, mortgage-free homes for wounded, ill and injured veterans is currently accepting applications for homes that will be built in Northern Virginia in 2020.
