Leggett Seeks Applicants for Commission on Veterans Affairs
Montgomery County, MD Executive Isiah Leggett is seeking applicants to fill six vacancies on the Commission on Veterans Affairs. Applications are being accepted through September 7, 2018. Two vacancies are for members representing the general public, and four vacancies are for veterans who may be members of veterans groups such as the Vietnam Veterans of America, American Veterans (AMVETS), Disabled American Veterans, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Women Veterans of America, American Legion, or Military Order of the Purple Heart. One public member and one veteran member are eligible to apply for reappointment.
Project Homeless Connect September 20th
Project Homeless Connect (PHC) brings together essential services at the area’s largest resource fair to meet the needs of our neighbors who are experiencing homelessness. By eliminating barriers that keep them from breaking free of the cycle of homelessness, they’re winning. Please join them for a weekend of archery, hiking, cabin camping, and other outdoors activities during the weekends of August 17-19 and an October Weekend TBD. This outing provides the opportunity to experience the outdoors with the camaraderie of others that share a military background.
